The utilization of simulation platforms emerges as a cornerstone for project success, notably in expediting the development of cutting-edge technologies and seamlessly integrating research findings into industrial practices. The study underscores how simulation platforms not only propel technology readiness level progression but also facilitate concurrent advancement along the business readiness level. This holds particularly true for simulation platforms like Unity and Omniverse by Nvidia, equipped with physics engines that meticulously simulate interactions within virtual environments.  Several factors contribute to this success, including sustained engagement among stakeholders and the fostering of spin-off initiatives, which catalyze collaborative innovation. By nurturing a holistic and collaborative approach, simulation platforms serve as catalysts for translating research outcomes into tangible applications within the industrial sector. This underscores their indispensable role in propelling industrial innovation forward.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.7148\/2024-0019","type":"proceedings-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2024,7,24]],"date-time":"2024-07-24T15:15:37Z","timestamp":1721834137000},"page":"19-25","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["Sustainable technology and business development: application of simulation platforms in norwegian marine industries"],"prefix":"10.7148","author":[{"given":"Irina-Emily","family":"Hansen","sequence":"first","affiliation":[]},{"given":"Ola Jon","family":"Mork","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"given":"Paul Steffen","family":"Kleppe","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]}],"member":"4144","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2024,6,7]]},"event":{"name":"38th ECMS International Conference on Modelling and Simulation"},"container-title":["ECMS 2024 Proceedings edited by Daniel Grzonka, Natalia Rylko, Grazyna Suchacka, Vladimir Mityushev"],"original-title":[],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2024,7,24]],"date-time":"2024-07-24T15:15:42Z","timestamp":1721834142000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/www.scs-europe.net\/dlib\/2024\/2024-0019.html"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2024,6,7]]},"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.7148\/2024-0019","relation":{},"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2024,6,7]]}}}
