Choosing the appropriate\nvideo encoding standard is crucial for efficient storage\nand transmission. This encompasses the raw video stream\nfrom the camera, footage that has been scanned directly\nfrom the film stock, and frame sequences from simula-\ntions. This paper presents a comparative analysis of con-\ntemporary video encoding standards, including H.264,\nVP9, H.265, AV1, and H.266. Various objective metrics,\nincluding PSNR, SSIM, and VMAF, are used to assess\ncompression efficiency, encoding speed, and image quality.\nThe study highlights the trade-offs between computational\ncomplexity and compression effectiveness.
