We present a case\nstudy based on a simulation that evaluates the thermal\nbehavior of a room over one year using real 2023\noutdoor temperature data from Konstanz (Germany).\nThe simulation integrates a conventional heating source\nwith a smart thermostat that adjusts the heating based\non occupancy and time of day preferences. By varying\nkey parameters such as wall thickness and temperature\nsetpoints, we reveal significant variations in predicted\nenergy savings. The savings distributions are irregular,\noften fat-tailed or multi-modal.
