Regulation (EU) 2023\/1542 mandates a Digital Battery Passport (DBP) to enable traceability, sustainability verification, and circularity, but implementation collides with confidentiality constraints, cybersecurity risk, and fragmented multi-tier supply chains. This tension is described as a Transparency--Security Paradox and motivates a socio-technical perspective that treats the DBP as lifecycle infrastructure rather than a static compliance file. Building on prior DBP\/DPP data-model and governance literature, a structured synthesis is provided comprising: a hierarchical Standardized Battery Passport Data Model (SBPDM) suitable for mapping regulatory disclosure to physical battery scope, a regenerative passport logic that formalizes diagnostic continuity across first-life and second-life transitions, and a decentralized trust profile that adapts identifiers, verifiable credentials, role-based disclosure, and lightweight cryptography to constrained Battery Management System (BMS) environments.
