However, the traditional energy education often remains theory-oriented and lacks sufficient integration of system-level thinking and practical application. This paper presents a course framework, designed to fill the gap between theoretical knowledge and real practice through simulation-based learning. The proposed framework integrates renewable energy technologies, building energy demand reduction strategies, and intelligent control concepts within a unified educational structure. This integration is implemented through the practical educational framework developed as a part of the international REBUILD project, that aims to support the reconstruction of Ukraine\u2019s buildings and infrastructure.\n\nThe study provides a five-step methodology for the framework design and gives preference to a 'learning-by-design' approach that emphasizes active experimentation over passive instruction. The main point of the framework is the integration of the Aladdin platform, a web-based CAD and CAE tool that enables students to virtually design building envelopes and analyze their energy performance. The effectiveness of this framework was assessed by seven experts using a Likert scale across seven key criteria.
