Thus, this study assessed the role of formal education on urban women’s perception and knowledge of climate change in Lagos State, Southwestern Nigeria. The study was carried out among women in Ikeja, Ikeja Local Government Area, Lagos State. A structured questionnaire was designed and administered to 272 respondents selected in the study area using purposive sampling techniques. A total of 242 questionnaires were retrieved and the data collected were analyzed using frequency counts, percentages, bar graphs, and logistic regression models. The logistic regression model was used to show the impact of women’s education on their perception and knowledge of climate change. The results of the logistic regression model revealed that the respondents’ perception of climate change (β = 0.303, Wald χ² = 4.888, p<0.05) and knowledge of climate change (β = 0.535, Wald χ² = 8.283; p<0.05) were influenced by their education. The study also showed that 80.2% of the respondents knew that climate change is happening, while 29.6% of the respondents only have in-depth understanding of climate change (causes and effects). The study concludes that policymakers should make substantial investments in women’s formal education as a strategic pathway for improving climate change awareness, strengthening women’s adaptive capacity, and enhancing their effective participation in climate action.
[[2026,6,2
["Does Education Shape Urban Women’s Climate Change Knowledge and Perception?
