This study aims to analyze the spatial variation of land use dynamics in the \nstudy area between 1981 and 2021; identify the conflict zones and suitable areas for \ngrazing or farming; examine the impact of the land use dynamic on the livelihoods of \nboth pastoralist and rural farmers in Kebbi State. Primary and secondary datasets were \nused for this study. Primary data through questionnaire administration was used to \nextract socio-demographic, conflict information on sampled respondents of Bagudo, \nBunza, Koko-Bese, Shanga and Suru local government areas. Secondary data through \nacquisition of multi-temporal satellite images were analyse and interpret the data on \nland use dynamics. A change detection method was then used to assess the changes in \nland use\/cover units between 1982, 1992, 2002, and between 2012 and 2022 (Rawat \nand Kumar, 2015). The analysis revealed that the landscape had undergone changes of \n82.4% within the years, change was intensified with about 37.3% from 1982 to 2002 \nand other changes of 45.1% from 2002 to 2022 having an average range of 18.7 and \n22.6 respectively. The findings underscore the urgency of implementing robust conflict \nresolution strategies, sustainable land management practices, and environmental \nconservation measures to mitigate the socio-economic and ecological impacts of these \nconflicts.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.69798\/82818014","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2025,8,10]],"date-time":"2025-08-10T12:26:27Z","timestamp":1754828787000},"page":"12-21","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["Investigating the Land Uses Dynamics for the Application in Farmers Herders Crisis Using Geospatial Techniques in Parts of Kebbi State, Nigeria"],"prefix":"10.69798","volume":"1","author":[{"name":"Federal University Birnin Kebbi, Nigeria","sequence":"first","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Bello","family":"Tukura","sequence":"first","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Muhammad","family":"Tukur","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"name":"Arewa Consultative Forum, 11A Sokoto Road, Kaduna State, Nigeria","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Abdullahi","family":"Salah","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"name":"Dan Sallah Karaye Farms, Bunza Kebbi State, Nigeria","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"50185","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2025,7,1]]},"container-title":["Journal of Ecopolitics, Peace, and Sustainable Development"],"original-title":[],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2026,1,11]],"date-time":"2026-01-11T13:04:42Z","timestamp":1768136682000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/koozakar.com\/journals\/article\/KJ-66907917"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2025,7,1]]},"references-count":0,"journal-issue":{"issue":"1","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2025,7,1]]}},"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.69798\/82818014","relation":{},"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2025,7,1]]}}}
