That may not always be possible. Similar data assimilation problems, involving other dissipative systems, are of considerable interest in the geophysical sciences, and are commonly solved using computationally intensive methods based on neural networks informed by machine learning. Successful solution of ill-posed timereversed Navier-Stokes equations is limited by uncertainty estimates, based on logarithmic convexity, that place limits on the value of \ud835\udc47 &gt; 0. In computational experiments involving satellite images of hurricanes and other meteorological phenomena, the present method is shown to produce successful solutions at values of \ud835\udc47 &gt; 0, that are several orders of magnitude larger than would be expected, based on the best-known uncertainty estimates. However, unsuccessful examples are also given. The present self-contained paper outlines the stabilizing technique, based on applying a compensating smoothing operator at each time step, and stressesthe important differences between data assimilation, and backward recovery, in ill-posed time reversed problems for dissipative equations. recent upsurge of violence against Muslims in various parts of Sri Lanka has grabbed the attention of popular discourses. However, little scholarly analysis has dealt with the recent rise of anti-Muslim sentiment and violence in the country, particularly the violence in Ampara and Kandy. As such, this article explores the implications and root causes of violence in Ampara and Kandy. This article is descriptive and interpretative in nature and mainly relies on secondary data. The article reveals that the violence in Ampara and Kandy unleashed by Sinhala Buddhist hardliners with complicity of law enforcement agencies caused much damage on the mosques, businesses and properties of Muslims. I argue that phobia against growing Muslim population, myth of sterilization pills, and economic jealousy and rivalry between Muslims and Sinhalese are the root causes of the violence against Muslims in Ampara and Kandy with some other sub-factors associated with it. Thousands of structures are destroyed, and thousands of lives are threatened or upended by fires every year. There are valuable lessons to be learned from these WUI fire events to help communities become more prepared, resilient, and resistant to fires in the future. Since 2007, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has conducted four post-fire case studies to do just that. This document summarizes the past case studies, which have served as a technical anchor for NIST\u2019s WUI research, as background and motivation for future case studies. The approach and methodology for data collection and analysis is described. A range of different post-fire deployment possibilities is presented along with parameters to consider for future case studies including areas of technical interest, staffing, training requirements, and suggested tools and
