The sediments were collected from a carbonate-rich waste mine tailings site in MO. Dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), major ions, and stable carbon isotope ratios of DIC (d13CDIC) leachate were analyzed. The purpose was to investigate the carbon dioxide produced from acid neutralization by carbonate-rich sediments that may occur at an acid mine drainage contaminated site (e.g. Neosho County SE Kansas) during the loss of CO2(g) during groundwater discharge. Results show that there is rapid decrease in DIC and an increase in pH during the first 48 hours of leaching the tailings with 0.1N sulfuric acid. The decrease in DIC is due to the loss of excess carbon dioxide CO2(aq) dissolved in water as neutralization is occurring. This loss of CO2(g) leads to a kinetic enrichment of the stable carbon isotopes d13CDIC. The magnitude of the d13CDIC enrichment is shown to depend on the (1) initial concentration of the excess CO2(aq) (at time = t0+1) in the leachate, (2) the amount of DIC and (3) the rate at which the CO2(g) is lost from the reactor. It is crucial for all members of the healthcare team caring for a newborn to hold this certification and demonstrate competency. Typically, NRP course renewals occur every two years. If delivery situations do not regularly require further implementation of NRP interventions, it may become more difficult for nurses and other members of the healthcare team to feel confident with their skills. We conducted a survey to learn more about the views and use patterns of current practitioners regarding this issue. Data confirm the scant use of these scopes during these evaluations and sheds light as to possible reasons for this. Studies have also shown many health benefits to women and children, leading to a positive economic effect globally, yet breastfeeding rates remain low (Walters et al., 2019). The current breastfeeding recommendations are that women breastfeed exclusively for the first six months and continue for up to one year (CDC, 2022). The percentage of infants initially breastfed has increased; however, the number exclusively breastfeeding at six months has decreased (CDC, 2022). Many women are unprepared for breastfeeding and eventually encounter barriers due to insufficient support resources (McLeod et al., 2021). This project aims to implement a plan-do-study-act model and case-controlled study to determine if prenatal breastfeeding preparation can increase breastfeeding rates. We will compare breastfeeding rates of women who do and don't receive breastfeeding preparation and education. The proposed preparation will involve providing breastfeeding education, support, provider referral to lactation resources, and identifying potential barriers. Studies have shown that proper preparation, education, and support provided prenatally increase BF self-efficacy, readiness, knowledge, and longer BF duration (Piro &amp;amp; Ahmed, 2020). With the extended lifelong benefits breastfeeding can deliver to both mother and child, it is essential to help connect women to BF preparation resources. However, these methods are temporally and financially expensive, and can be difficult to conduct in remote areas. Aerial photographs overcome some of these issues, but there are problems associated with poor resolution and are produced at too low of frequency for proper analysis and monitoring. With the introduction of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and high resolution sensors, monitoring efforts of landscapes can be obtained at high frequencies with high image resolution. Texas horned lizards (P. cornutum) and Lesser earless lizards (H. maculata) are ideal organisms to study habitat composition within a landscape due to their low mobility and occupy a specific habitat niche. The study is a continuation of a long-term research project conducted by the FHSU Economics Club to track P&amp;amp;E over time. Based on a survey conducted in February of 2023, our FHSU Student Confidence Index declined by nearly 10% from the previous year. Results from rigorous assessment across FHSU support commitment to student academic excellence and student success that align with University strategic plans. Despite the benefits, implementation of assessment has its challenges. Studies suggest institution wide assessment is most effective when assessment culture shows a balanced mix of bottom-up (e.g., through department and program level) and topdown (e.g., institutional expectations) elements (EAU, 2006; Skedsmo &amp;amp; Huber, 2019). This treatable sexually transmitted infection (STI) is the leading cause of stillbirths and neonatal deaths (Trivedi et al., 2020). According to the CDC (2021), the incidence ofcongenital syphilis increased 254% from 2016 to 2020. The key factors include decreased funding for STI education, decreased access to care, limited resources such as transportation and health insurance, stigma that is associated with diagnosis and treatment and legal issues that may be present such as undocumented migrants (Contraceptive Technology Update, 2022). Objective: Increase the education for STI prevention and treatment to decrease the incidence of congenital syphilis.Methods: Through the research design Plan\/Do\/Study\/Act increased education will help to bring awareness of prevention and treatment to women of childbearing ages. Inclusion of community resources such as community centers, rural health clinics, health departments and schools will assist in capturing a more diverse population as well as a greater number of patients. Education will occur as a standard at child appointments, prenatal screenings, during health classes and at community centers. Comparison ofcongenital syphilis diagnosis from pre- and post- education implementation will provide data to indicate significance. Conclusion: Through implementation of extended education points the healthcare team can reach a greater number of patients and ensure swift and adequate treatment. Syphilis is a treatable infection and when detected and treated in a timely manner will lessen the risk to the unborn child.
