Participants were 104 non-clinical opportunity sample comprised of both male(53.8%) and female (46.2%) adults aged 22 to 68 years old (Mean= 40.71, SD= 11.67). A hierarchical multiple linear regression analysis was conducted, and the results were in line with hypotheses; in model 1, all two predictors(social anxiety, and loneliness) were significant predictors of UITs. Neuroticism was included in model 2, and was found to mediate how well social anxiety, and loneliness predict the likelihood of experiencing UITs.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.2139\/ssrn.4206096","type":"posted-content","created":{"date-parts":[[2022,10,15]],"date-time":"2022-10-15T13:29:51Z","timestamp":1665840591000},"source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["Social Anxiety, Loneliness, and Neuroticism in Unwanted Intrusive Thoughts"],"prefix":"10.2139","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0003-0749-419X","authenticated-orcid":true,"given":"Jesse","family":"Omoregie","sequence":"first","affiliation":[],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]}],"member":"78","deposited":{"date-parts":[[2026,8,13]],"date-time":"2026-08-13T10:32:51Z","timestamp":1786617171000},"score":37.48474,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/www.ssrn.com\/abstract=4206096"}},"issued":{"date-parts":[[2022]]},"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.2139\/ssrn.4206096","published":{"date-parts":[[2022]]},"subtype":"preprint"},{"indexed":{"date-parts":[[2023,12,1]],"date-time":"2023-12-01T00:29:46Z","timestamp":1701390586994},"publisher":"Austrian Science Fund (FWF)","award-start":{"date-parts":[[2009,7,1]]},"award":"J2853","DOI":"10.55776\/j2853","type":"grant","created":{"date-parts":[[2023,11,30]],"date-time":"2023-11-30T16:40:54Z","timestamp":1701362454000},"source":"Crossref","prefix":"10.55776","member":"34446","project":[{"project-title":[{"title":"Child traumatic stress and unwanted intrusive thoughts"}],"funding":[{"type":"grant","award-amount":{"amount":57300.0,"currency":"EUR","percentage":100},"funder":{"id":[{"id":"10.13039\/501100002428","id-type":"DOI","asserted-by":"publisher"}],"name":"Austrian Science Fund (FWF)"}}]}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2023,11,30]],"date-time":"2023-11-30T16:48:07Z","timestamp":1701362887000},"score":36.961403,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/www.fwf.ac.at\/en\/research-radar\/10.55776\/J2853"}},"issued":{"date-parts":[[2009,7,1]]},"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.55776\/j2853"}],"items-per-page":5,"query":{"start-index":0,"search-terms":null}}}
