Mobilized queer cultures and desires are deeply structured and further complicated by social mobility and immobility through the myth of quality. Social and spatial gating and walling in China\u2019s online and urban middle-class communities have functioned as vehicles of social inclusion and exclusion in the country\u2019s ongoing post-\n                    <italic>suzhi<\/italic>\n                    transformations. Dans cet article, je d\u00e9fends la th\u00e8se selon laquelle les interactions entre les processus de formation de classe et de race doivent \u00eatre examin\u00e9es dans leurs tensions avec le cadre plus g\u00e9n\u00e9ral du processus de formation nationale. Je m\u2019attache, particuli\u00e8rement, \u00e0 la fa\u00e7on dont, au Br\u00e9sil, racialisation et formation de classes sont structur\u00e9s par l\u2019appartenance nationale qui, elle-m\u00eame, se construit en relation avec un id\u00e9al particulier de classe sociale et de d\u00e9n\u00e9gation de races. \u00c0 cette fin, j\u2019utilise librement le concept de racialisation d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 en sociologie par Michael Barton, ceux de formation de classes (Adam Przeworski) et de formation raciale (Omi &amp; Tandis que, de la \u00ab race unique \u00bb (Toynbee) \u00e0 la \u00ab civilisation luso-tropicale \u00bb (Bastide), les observateurs \u00e9trangers ne lui m\u00e9nageaient gu\u00e8re leur admiration, \u00e0 l'int\u00e9rieur m\u00eame du pays, la \u00ab d\u00e9mocratie raciale \u00bb persistait comme l'id\u00e9ologie sociale de tous les r\u00e9gimes depuis plus de quarante ans. Parce qu'elle remplissait une fonction essentielle, la d\u00e9fense de l'unit\u00e9 ethnique br\u00e9silienne ; parce qu'elle s'appuyait sur une brillante argumentation, celle de Gilberto Freyre, elle restait l'objet principal de la fiert\u00e9 nationale.
