The study adopted a descriptive survey design. Population for the study was 150 and the sample size was 50. Purposive sampling technique was adopted. Structured questionnaires were the instrument used for data collection. Data collected were analyzed using mean and standard deviation. Findings revealed that some of the factors that have negative impacts on Home Economics  teachers service  delivery are obsolete curriculum that are not in tune with current realities, lack of meaningful job schedule, lack of proper planning and provision of needed technological tools, facilities and equipment needed foreffective teaching and learning of home economics, lack of proper procedures for measuring the growth of each individual teacher and student performance, inability to make result driven evaluation that would help teachers appreciate their roles as home economist and lack of clear understanding of the subject matter. It was concluded that that employees provides favorable and satisfying working conditions, teachers should be an embodiment of a constant search for updated knowledge in their various fields. The first question pertained to the interrelationship between the literature published and cited in <jats:italic>HERJ<\/jats:italic>. The second question asked what impact the re search published in <jats:italic>HERJ<\/jats:italic> had on authors publishing in other journals. By per forming Bradford analyses using the 2,440 journal references cited by authors of 316 articles in the first 10 volumes of <jats:italic>HERJ<\/jats:italic>, core journals were identified. The core journals varied among the subject matter subsets and between individual subsets and the total set of journal references. <jats:italic>HERJ<\/jats:italic> ranked high in six of seven cores. Through citation analysis 133 articles citing 88 <jats:italic>HERJ<\/jats:italic> articles were found in 62 journals other than <jats:italic>HERJ<\/jats:italic>. Seven of the top 10 citing journals were also included in at least one of the cores identified by the Bradford analyses. To the extent that citations are an indication of the use made of research, implications are drawn regarding the effectiveness of <jats:italic>HERJ<\/jats:italic> within the written communication synthesizing and analyzing qualitative studies related to the identity of home economics teachers using socio-psychological, socio-cultural, post-structuralism, and post-modern approaches. To achieve the purpose of the study, we searched for \u2018home economics teachers' as a keyword in the Research Information Sharing Service, and selected 9 papers related to the identity of home economics teachers, and conducted a qualitative meta-synthesis. The themes derived from the study are summarized as follows. First, home economics teachers are those who have a mission to serve humanity, can influence students and society, teach home economics that help them live happy lives, and practice practical problem-centered classes that foster the ability to solve problems in family life. Second, home economics teachers are meaningfully reconstructing and teaching home economics curriculum content, and although they are exhausted by excessive work, they are forming a community culture and fostering their beliefs and values about the teaching profession even in this situation. Third, home economics teachers' self-esteem is weakening due to the ideology of entrance exams, they are skeptical of the ideology that students must be good at cooking and sewing, and they are experiencing frustration due to the limitations in changing the curriculum organization. To address the research question, this study proceeded through the following stages: conceptual clarification of practical reasoning, philosophical analysis from multiple perspectives, and the development of a practical reasoning framework tailored to Home Economics Education. The ultimate goal is to seek ways in which this concept can be meaningfully applied in educational practice. Although the stage of reflection and re-exploration\u2014typically involving reconsideration of the inquiry in light of new paradigms, changes, and emerging issues\u2014is an essential part of philosophical inquiry, it was omitted in this study due to the early stage of implementation of the 2022 revised curriculum in schools. The revised curriculum highlights practical reasoning as the wisdom necessary for making moral decisions and emphasizes reflection as a key process for moral development and the enhancement of human relationships. Therefore, this study\u2019s literature-based philosophical exploration is expected to serve as a foundation for future research on the concept of reflection as emphasized in the 2022 curriculum. ordered by the number of articles published and were surveyed by questionnaire in order to obtain background information about them and also to determine what has motivated them to publish. In addition, authors were asked to respond to a replication request to determine their will ingness to aid other researchers. Most prolific authors were defined as those authors with three or more published articles in either journal between Sep tember 1972\u2010September 1982. Surprisingly no one author had this many articles in both journals during this decade. Most of the authors have Ph.D. degrees which were obtained at least 11 years ago from a variety of universities. Most are currently employed as college professors or administrators or a com bination of both. Graduate school training, colleagues, and employers were chief motivators. Authors, for the most part, responded positively to replication re revised home economics curriculum, proposing a three-dimensional structure and components for competency-based assessment, and examining its validity through expert deliberation. A competency-based assessment structure for high school home economics was proposed from the perspectives of totality, performance, and context of competency. First, in terms of \u2018core ideas,\u2019 elements were extracted based on the basic concepts and principles that must be known in home economics, but knowledge and understanding, process and function, and values and attitudes were integrated and structured considering the holistic perspective of competency. Second, at the \u2018process' level, the unique inquiry and thinking strategies and functions of home economics were analyzed from a problem-solving perspective, and common evaluation criteria for home economics were established while emphasizing the performativity of competencies. Third, in the \u2018context and value\u2019 dimension, it was proposed to structure the questions so that learners can utilize what they have learned in home economics in real life in personal, family, social, and ecological contexts, and based on this, an evaluation direction for assessing home economics education competency in high school was Economics Research Journal"],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[1976,6]]},"abstract":"<jats:p>The process of professionalization is studied and the attributes an occupation acquires as it becomes professionalized are enumerated. These characteristics include establishment of a professional association with membership requirements designed to keep out the unqualified; control over education for and admission to the profession by current practi tioners, often working through the professional association; possible licensure or certifica tion as a requirement to practice; a name change to give status and prestige to the occupa tion; and development of a code of ethics with an altruistic or service orientation. Factors in the history and development of home economics are studied and compared to this model.
