Employment and stable housing are key to ending homelessness and achieving independence, but few studies have sufficiently investigated this group's living conditions. An electronic literature search using keywords homeless, mental disorder, and employment was conducted. Data on participant demographics and employment outcomes were compiled to characterize the population and understand employment's role. The review found that effective support includes individualized, comprehensive, and flexible interventions, education and skill provision, and fostering supportive networks. Further research is needed to understand this population and develop effective solutions.
[[2026,2,11
["A In contrast, those in less stable positions showed limited upward mobility and experienced greater employment instability. Research on SE has mainly focused on the supply-side rather than the demand-side; the employer perspective regarding the employment of people with disabilities is not as well researched. The aim of this study is to investigate what employers with experience of employing persons with disabilities see as successful support from an SE organization. Fifteen employers and five managers were interviewed. The interviews were analyzed with the help of qualitative content analysis [21]. The results show that the SE organizations played three important roles – as broker, as guide, and as troubleshooter – and that this influenced employers' willingness to collaborate. The SE organizations were able to respond to the demands and market logic that make up employers' everyday reality. The approaches employers pointed to as most successful were provision of security, responsibility for the labor supplied, and the cultivation of relationships of trust with employers.
[[2019,12,3
["The employer's perspective on Supported employment for people with disabilities: Successful approaches of Supported employment organizations
[[2013,1,1
Journal of Vocational Rehabilitation
[[2025,3,11
[[2013,1,1
[[2013,3
10.3233/JVR-130624
["1052-2263","1878-6316
[[2013,1,1
2026,2,13
["Journal of Vocational Rehabilitation
2002,1
[[2024,11,25
["Introduction to Special Edition on Self Employment for People with Disabilities
Director of Special Projects, Rural Institute,\r University of Montana. Specifically in the labor area, due to the alarming data that 75% of working age people with disabilities are unemployed and according to the tenets of the International Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities (U.N.), the Argentina government decided to develop and reactivate policies to address this situation. These institutions are only beginning to regard supported employment as a system of labor inclusion in the competitive job market for people with disabilities. integrated employment. This article presents the results of a study conducted by an alliance of researchers and community partners to elucidate public perceptions regarding work inclusion of people with an intellectual disability. The study consisted of a telephone poll conducted throughout a large region of the Province of Ontario, Canada. A majority of the 680 respondents believed that some form of integrated work is best for most adults with an intellectual disability. About 87% of respondents believed that hiring people with intellectual disabilities would not negatively affect the image of workplaces. Respondents indicated that a lack of employment training programs for people with intellectual disabilities was a major obstacle to increased inclusion.
[[2024,11,20
["Public views on employment of people with intellectual disabilities
South Eastern Ontario Community-University Research\r Alliance in Intellectual Disabilities, Canada
South Eastern Ontario Community-University Research\r Alliance in Intellectual Disabilities, Canada
South Eastern Ontario Community-University Research\r Alliance in Intellectual Disabilities, Canada
[[2007,1,1
Journal of Vocational Rehabilitation
[[2025,3,11
[[2007,1
[[2007,1
10.3233/JVR-2007-00360
https://doi.org/10.3233/jvr-2007-00360
1052-2263","1878-6316
[[2007,1
2025,10,22
[[2004,1,1
["Journal of Vocational Rehabilitation
2004,1
Objective: This study was conducted a) to examine the concerns of
people with disabilities regarding their participation in independent living
and in society and b) to explore whether people from "emerging" disability
groups and those from "traditional" disability groups prioritize issues
    related to these concerns similarly.
Study design: National survey using the "Concerns Report Method for
Citizens with Disabilities" (CRM), an agenda-setting instrument, which
involves people with disabilities in the research process.
