The resonances resulted at the same frequencies but with different line widths. Cs<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>[Ag(I)Cl<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>]- [Au(III)Cl<jats:sub>4<\/jats:sub>] yielded a singlet, V<jats:sub>Q2<\/jats:sub> = 27.96 MHz, at 77 K. The three samples gave rise to ESR signals indicating the presence of paramagnetic Au(II) or Ag(II) sites with low concentration. <jats:sup>35<\/jats:sup>ClNQR spin-lattice relaxation time <jats:italic>T<\/jats:italic>\n                  <jats:sub>1Q<\/jats:sub> measurements revealed that only the reorientational motions of the anions [Au(III)Cl<jats:sub>4<\/jats:sub>]<jats:sup>\u2212<\/jats:sup> are exited at high field. The excellent agreement of calculated and observed frequencies confirms the assignments of the vibrational spectra. Due to the stronger trans influence of Cl compared to F in all asymmetric F\u2013Pt\u2013Cl axes the Pt\u2013Cl bonds are strengthened and the Pt\u2013F bonds are weakened, as indicated by valence force constants for Pt\u2013Cl approximately 20% higher, for Pt\u2013F 20% lower, compared with the values calculated for symmetric Cl\u2013Pt\u2013Cl and F\u2013Pt\u2013F axes, respectively. The compound crystallises isotypically with Rb<jats:sub>6<\/jats:sub>Cl<jats:sub>4<\/jats:sub>O in the anti-K<jats:sub>4<\/jats:sub>CdCl<jats:sub>6<\/jats:sub> type of structure. The structure consists of infinite chains of alternating face-sharing OCs<jats:sub>6<\/jats:sub> octahedra and ClCs<jats:sub>6<\/jats:sub> trigonal prisms which are separated by chloride anions.
