However, among children with asthma the effects of these parameters remain unclear. This study objectively quantified the physical activity of children with asthma and evaluated its association with environmental, personal, and clinical parameters. Participants of the prospective LIFE-MEDEA asthma study wore the EMRACE\u2122 smartwatch daily for continuous monitoring of physical activity and acquisition of global positioning system data. Daily physical activity, personal and clinical data were combined with daily temperature, precipitation, and air pollution levels in adjusted mixed effect regression models to examine the relationship between physical activity and the examined parameters. For a follow-up period of 4 months, 186 children with asthma demonstrated a decrease of 796 steps (95% CI: -1080, -512) on days with precipitation compared to non-precipitation days and a decrease of 96 steps (95% CI: -182, -9) for every 10\u00a0\u00b5g\/m<jats:sup>3<\/jats:sup> increase in PM<jats:sub>10<\/jats:sub>. The relationship between temperature and daily steps was characterized by an inverted U-shape. There was also evidence that gender and age-adjusted BMI z-score were negatively associated with daily steps. The primary aim of this study was to assess the impact of renal haemodynamics on the pharmacokinetic behaviour of ibuprofen enantiomers. Thirty\u2010two patients and ten age\u2010matched healthy volunteers participated in this study. These patients had at least one of the following risk factors for cardiovascular disorders: hypertension, diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidaemia and hyperuricaemia with or without consequent complications such as coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, cerebral vascular disease, and chronic renal failure. Renal function in these patients was thus characterized by unstable renal haemodynamics that might render them susceptible to ibuprofen\u2010 incurred renal damage. 2. Each subject received a single oral dose of 800 mg of racemic ibuprofen. The pharmacokinetic parameters of (S)\u2010 and (R)\u2010ibuprofen, t 1\/2(S), t 1\/2(R), AUC(S), AUC(R), V\/F(R), and CL\/F(R), for each individual were determined from respective plasma concentration\u2010time curves. To assess the effect of individual clinical conditions on the disposition of ibuprofen enantiomers, the arithmetic means of these pharmacokinetic parameters for each disease group were compared with those of the healthy volunteers by a t\u2010test. 3. All of these disease groups showed elevated AUC(S) and higher (S)\/(R) AUC ratios. These disease states along with gender and age were analyzed by multiple linear regression to discern significant factors for elevating AUC(S). Of these, advanced age (P = 0.02) and hypertension (P = 0.03) were identified as independent factors contributing to AUC(S) increase in this population. We report a 55-year-old lady presented with sudden onset of left-sided limb weakness and hypereosinophilia. Cerebral computerised tomography scan showed multiple small infarctions in bilateral corona radiata and right thalamus. A transesophageal echocardiogram revealed endomyocardial damage with mural thrombus suggesting Loeffler endocarditis. The multiple cerebral infarctions were probably due to cardiac thromboembolism. Treatment with prednisolone led to significant clinical improvement. This case illustrates hypereosinophilia should be considered in patients with multiple cerebral infarctions. paediatric age group. This study is to evaluate the demographics, etiology, management and visual outcome of paediatric ocular trauma in Sabah. This is a retrospective review of all ocular trauma occurring in the paediatric age group from age 12 years old and below from January to December 2014 at Hospital Wanita Dan Kanak-Kanak, Sabah. Medical records were reviewed and the data was examined based on Birmingham Eye Trauma Terminology (BETT) system. Incomplete case notes were excluded from the study. A total of 37 cases were accumulated during the study period. All the paediatric ocular trauma cases were admitted and accounted for 13.4% of the total paediatric eye ward admission. However, 4 cases were excluded from the study as the medical records were incomplete. There were 26(78.8%) males while 7(21.2%) female children with a ratio male: female of 3.7: 1. There were 31(93.9%) unilateral ocular injury cases while only 2(6.1%) bilateral injury caused by chemical injury. The most common type of ocular trauma was closed globe injury totaling 24 (72.7%) cases. Trauma caused by blunt object contributed to the highest mode of injury 15 (45.5%) of cases. Open globe injuries which had poor visual outcome accounted for 9 (27.3%) cases. Most of patients required surgical treatment 21(63.6%) while 12(36.4%) cases treated non-surgically. In conclusion, ocular trauma was more common in male and pre-school age group. The main aetiology was blunt injury. Most of the cases treated surgically. Traumatic bilateral dissections and dissecting aneurysms are extremely rare. A 17\u2010year\u2010old male presented to our emergency department with sudden onset of right hemiparesis and aphasia. Initial computed tomography scan of head and neck showed no remarkable finding. On the second day, a magnetic resonance angiography of head and neck demonstrated bilateral extracranial internal carotid artery dissections. The diagnosis of traumatic carotid artery dissection for emergency physicians is difficult because of the absence or delayed onset in symptomatology. Magnetic resonance angiography is currently considered as an appropriate initial diagnostic tool for carotid artery injury. In clinical practice, early diagnosis by keeping a high index of suspicions is required by emergency
