Searching for antimicrobial agents to prevent deaths with new structures and modes of action is an essential strategy of the research. Therefore, in the present study has been undertaken of thymidine and of its eleven acylated derivatives were employed as test chemicals for in vitro antibacterial evaluation against five human pathogenic bacteria. The compounds were also screened for antifungal functionality tests against two phytopathogenic fungi. It was observed that a good number of tested compounds exhibited moderate to good antimicrobial activities. It was also observed that these acylated compounds were more effective against the phytopathogenic fungi than those of the bacterial strains. Encouragingly, several tested chemicals showed better antibacterial and antifungal activities than the standard antibiotics employed. The minimum inhibition concentration (MIC) values of the compounds 3 (5\u00b4-O-butyrylthymidine), 7 (5\u00b4-O-palmitoylthymidine) and 12 (5\u00b4-O-4- dichloroacetylthymidine) were found to be 0.32 mg\/ml and minimum bactericidal concentrations (MBC) values were found to be 0.63 mg \/ml in each case. On the other hand, the minimum fungal concentration (MFC) was found to be (1.25 mg\/ml) in the case of compound 7 (i.e., palmitoyl derivative) which may be used as antifungal active drug providing further investigation. In vitro MTT assays revealed that compounds 4 (5\u00b4-O-hexanoylthymidine) and 7 (5\u00b4-O-palmitoylthymidine) were effective against Ehrlich\u2019s ascites carcinoma (EAC) cells and IC50 values were found to be 920.88 \u03bcg\/ml and 792.90 \u03bcg\/ml, respectively. So these compounds may be targeted for future studies for their usage as broad-spectrum antibiotics.\nJ. The structure of the feed and the quality of mixing are determined by means of the Pennsylvania sorting system, the level of feed on the sieves is in line with the normative. The results of the production experiment on feeding dairy cows with Actisaf Sc 47, which has a probiotic effect, indicate better digestibility of the feed when the additive is introduced, the use of the drug contributes to: reducing ketone bodies in milk, the beneficial effect of improved feeding, by including yeast on the health of animals, improving the health of the udder, manifested in a decrease in somatic cells in milk. The milk yield with the use of the additive is increased, the milk protein is also increased, since its absorption in the rumen is improved. With the use of additives, the appetite and eatability of the feed improves, so in the group before feeding the probiotic, the percentage of feed residue on the feed table is higher than in the experiment. Dry matter intake is 4.32% higher when feeding supplements, while feed conversion is increased. Saving feed costs per 1 kg of milk is 0.97 rubles. E"],"abstract":"<jats:p>This study was carried out to determine the hyperglycemic effect of diets prepared with different particle sizes of composite flour from Maize (Zea mays), Wheat (Triticum aestivum) and African breadfruit (Treculia africana) on adult diabetic albino rats (Rattus norvegcus). The samples were milled into different particle flour sizes and used to prepare three different sets of diets (diet A, diet B, and diet C). Diet A represents the fine particle size composite flour, diet B represents medium particle size composite flour, while diet C represents coarse particle size composite flour. The broiler finisher, which serves as the control represents diet D. Sixteen rats were used in this experiment and separated into four groups of four rats each (three experimental groups and one control group). The experimental groups were injected with alloxan to induce diabetes, while the control group was injected with saline solution. Groups 1, 2, 3 and 4 were fed with diets A, B, C and D respectively and their fasting blood glucose level were determined at intervals for a period of twenty-one days. Group 3 had the lowest blood glucose level range (80 to 100 mg\/dL) more than diets A and B which has blood glucose level range of 82 to 109 mg\/dL and 103 to 124 mg\/dL respectively. This is an indication that the particle size of diet C is the best in the management of diabetes among the other diets. Therefore, the particle size of diet C is more effective in the management of diabetes than that of diets A and B. However, the three diets were able to reduce the blood glucose level to               <jats:p>The paradigm that only 1% of microbes are culturable has had a profound impact on our understanding of microbial ecology and is still a major motivation for mostly using molecular tools to characterize microbial communities. However, this point is often expressed vaguely, suggesting that some scientists have different interpretations of the paradigm. In addition, there have been substantial advances in cultivation techniques suggesting that this paradigm may no longer be correct. To quantify bacterial culturability across six major biomes, I found that the median 16S rRNA similarity of bacteria to known cultured relatives was 97.3\u2009\u00b1\u20092.3% (s.d.). Furthermore, 52.0\u2009\u00b1\u200924% of sequences and 34.9\u2009\u00b1\u200923% of taxa (defined as &amp;gt;97% similar) had a closely related cultured relative.
